After your account is fully established, you will be able to start taking advantage of investing in U.S. markets. Choose from the following options to fund your account and start investing.
 

Please note that third party transfer and payment will not be accepted (i.e. all account holder(s) on the sending account must be identical with all the name(s) shown on your Charles Schwab Hong Kong account.) Rejected third-party deposits will be returned to their payment sources as soon as practicable.

Send a check

Make the check payable to:
"Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. FBO" and include your eight-digit Schwab account number. 

You can mail or drop off the check to our Investor Center at the following address:

All checks received after 1 p.m. HK time will be processed the next business day. All check deposits are subject to a five-business-day clearance period before any trading in penny stocks and/or options can be accepted.

For deposit of a cashier's order or bank draft, please provide bank-issued proof that it is your deposit (e.g. a bank receipt showing your bank account number and bank account holder's name; or bank endorsement on the back of the cashier's order or bank draft).

Message to Recipient To ensure your account is properly credited, please provide the eight-digit account number and name(s) listed on your Schwab account to your bank for inclusion in "Message to Recipient".

Please ask the bank to include full sender information in order to reduce the risk of delay or rejection for their payments.

IMPORTANT: The following information is required for all incoming payments that originate from outside of the U.S., and represents the minimum acceptable information:

  • Sender Information: Amount of Transaction, Date of Transaction, Name, Address (at a minimum, the Sender’s country)
  • Beneficiary/Recipient Information: Name, Account Number
  • Originating Financial Institution Information: 
    Either of: The name and country of the originating Financial Institution or the alpha-numerical identifier of the originating Financial Institution (Bank Identifier Code/BIC)

Some third-party intermediary banks may charge a fee for wire transfers. Consult with your sending bank for details.
