Effective July 2019, Schwab Hong Kong is no longer offering complex products, which are investment products whose terms, features, and risks are not reasonably likely to be understood by retail investors because of their complex structure. The latest list of complex products that Schwab Hong Kong clients are restricted from placing orders to open new positions includes but is not limited to: Offshore Mutual Funds, Select Foreign Stocks—foreign stocks traded on non-specified exchanges, Preferred Securities, Virtual Asset Related Funds, OTC ETFs, OTC Warrants, and certain fixed income products (please read here for details of the restricted fixed income products). Any complex product orders placed through the Schwab system may be rejected, cancelled, or set to closing only.
